LISA SAINT is a writer, artist, educator, and advocate for the arts. After earning her B.F.A. in Performing and Visual Arts from United State International University, she studied writing and children’s book illustration at UCLA, Otis Art Institute, Chouinard School of Art, and Art Center School of Design.

Lisa taught drawing and dance for thirteen years, while simultaneously freelancing in the field of magazine and greeting card illustration. Over the past thirteen years, she has taught bookmaking and a graphic novels introduction course with the South Pasadena Educational Foundation.

Through the dynamic collaboration of mixed media and melted medium (encaustics), Lisa’s latest series of paintings integrates Words and Images, creating a timeless, whimsical window that peeks back at the past while peering into the future.

Lisa is an active member of the South Pasadena Arts Council (SPARC), as well as the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is currently finishing illustrations for her first book Sophie’s Shoes, while writing and illustrating her second book, Flood of Courage.
