Cimorene is not your average princess (she’d rather fence, cook and clean than primp and embroider), Mendanbar is not your average king (he hates state functions), and Princess Morwen is not your average witch (she is young and pretty and none of her cats are black). These three wonderful characters and more star in Patricia Wrede’s funny, charming fairytale takeaways. This series is a sure hit with any reader that loves a good, quirky, funny and engaging read. 5 stars!
