Erika-san was inspired as a young girl by a painting of a Japanese teahouse, so much that it drove her to Japan as an adult to teach English. Based on a true story, Erika-san follows this journey from crowded Japanese streets, to a remote Japanese island, and eventually to her home, the enchanting teahouse. Created by the Caldecott Award winner Allen Say, known for his poetic language and evocative watercolors.
