The FDR years were some of the most fascinating and transformative in US history. They were a time of hope and change, but also of widespread racism and devastating economic crisis (not to mention the barbarism of the Second World War). This book provides a brief overview of that time. It’s a great introduction to the life, presidency, and administration of Franklin D. Roosevelt, with a focus on the interaction between the government, popular movements, and socio-economic forces. The narrative is complemented by short illustrated ‘comics’ sections that emphasize key ideas and events. This is a fun, informative, and relevant read!

In this highly-anticipated sequel to the smash debut hit, The Spellman Files, the wacky story of the Spellman investigators picks up 2 years later. This time around, there are a few differences, but some things haven't changed at all - most notably, the family's effort to reign in Izzy's aggressive pursuit/surveillance of the family's next door neighbor.
