Intriguing piece of literary criticism, also fun to read. Shields not only explores the future of literature, he convincingly argues that fiction , specifically the novel, no longer adequately expresses what it means to be alive in today’s world. Instead he urges writers to ignore the (alleged) boundaries between fiction and nonfiction in favor of a new genre that draws equal inspiration from memoir, reality TV, hiphop, and standup comedy (among others).

Literaries Who Lunch presents Jacqueline Winspear presenting and signing An Incomplete Revenge
In her 5th outing, Maisie Dobbs delves into a strange series of crimes within a small rural community. What she finds is disturbing: the villagers' extreme prejudice against outsiders who flock to the town during harvest time and their obsession with a wartime Zeppelin raid. She finds that her powers of detection are put to one of her greatest tests. Bring your own lunch or order a delicious one from our favorite local bakery, Europane, for only $13.98 + tax!
