Vroman's Ed - From Stuck to Unstuck - Cancelled

Our apologies, this class has been cancelled.

Writers get stuck. Projects stall and years can pass. Whatever stage your manuscript is in, this workshop will help you get to the next level with your project.  We will explore self-editing: what to cut, when to share your work, and with whom, as well as the dangers of negative comments and gratuitous praise. Breaking through: recording your chapters and hearing the score. Having a goal: making and setting a goal for what you are going to do with your writing and who is your intended audience/market. What is the purpose of your writing and for the finished project? Asking CB Shiepe’s essential question: What would be the tragedy if your manuscript is never completed or shared? Move beyond roadblocks. Take that manuscript out of the drawer, dust it off and discover how to get writing again. Students will share roadblocks and practical strategies to move past them.

Instructor: C.B. Shiepe’s award-winning novel – CLIFF FALLS – reaches a broad audience and resonates with readers who have gone over the falls in their own lives. Shiepe has garnered much media attention, appearing on NBC, PBS, TBN, The Hour of Power, in Guideposts Magazine, at the LA Times Festival of Books, and speaking engagements across the country, including the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA where actors performed scenes from his novel.

C.B. Shiepe graduated from the University of Southern California and started his career in production for the Walt Disney Company. Founder and Creative Director of Cliff Falls Media, Inc., C. B. Shiepe develops creative content that explores who we are and how we are connected to each other. Understanding that “at one time or another we all go over the falls,” he writes and speaks to an intergenerational audience about the CLIFF FALLS experience. He lives in Southern California.
