My absolute favorite food! Whether its ribs, brisket, pulled pork, or burnt ends, nothing beats barbeque. This book not only gives you a tour of many of the best BBQ joints in America, but also has their recipes to boot! If you ever find yourself in Kansas City, try two favorites of mine: Jack Stack BBQ and Oklahoma Joe’s. “Finger Lickin’ Good!”

Paperback Dreams is a one-hour public TV documentary about two landmark independent bookstores and their struggle to survive. The film follows Andy Ross, owner of Cody's Books, and Clark Kepler, owner of Kepler's Books, over the course of two tumultuous years in the book business. Immediately following the showing of the film there will be a discussion of independent bookselling in Southern California with Tyson Cornell (Book Soup), Emily Pullen (Skylight Books), and Patrick Brown (Vroman's Bookstore), moderated by the film's maker, Alex Beckstead.
