IRENE NAORI WONG
August 1 - September 1

Biography
Irene began folding One Thousand Cranes arrangements for
family and friends as wedding gifts and for special occasions. She discovered
the Rokoan style in an exhibition at the Japanese American Cultural and
Community Center and just had to try folding one thousand cranes from one sheet of washi paper.
The pieces presented at Vroman’s Art on the Stairwell Exhibition are smaller versions of the one thousand cranes arrangements. Custom pieces are available, please contact our Customer Service department at (626) 449-5320 or orders@vromansbookstore.com for paper selection and more information.
Irene Naori Wong lives in Pasadena, California with her daughter, Amy and husband, Mike.
Rokoan Style
The Rokoan style of origami utilizes one continuous sheet
of washi paper. Each crane is folded by slitting the paper so that the cranes
remain connected at the wings.
