Norman Ollestad Thirty years ago, at age 11, Ollestad was in a horrific plane crash in the San Gabriel Mountains in which he was the only survivor. Lost in the crash were his father, his father's girlfriend and the pilot. Crazy for the Storm is Ollestad's story of his terrifying physical and psychological descent down the mountain in extreme conditions and the touching relationship he and his father shared that helped to instill in him the characteristics he needed in order to endure such an ordeal.
