In refreshingly simple and direct prose, Epictetus offers timeless wisdom. He addresses things such as the futility of seeking esteem through the opinions of others and the way to approach problematic habits, such as procrastination. I like his no-nonsense opinions, which sound like nuggets of irrefutable truth coming from the sage grandfather I never had.
