In this novel, four women bound together by their Mexican roots and their love of Folklorico dance deal with issues of abuse, aging, grief, sibling relationships, and crumbling marriages. Using alternating voices, Grande weaves the women's stories as they face questions of identity not only as Mexican Americans, but as women. As they struggle to find acceptance and fulfillment, they ultimately find strength in each other and in their passion for Folklorico. A dance performance and appetizers will accompany this event.
