A small-time crook is doing life in Corcoran State Prison for his mother's murder, but when he admits that his confession was coerced by the cops, Detective Scully takes on the case. It leads him straight into the path of a ruthless cop who has it in for him, and quite abruptly, an LAPD deputy chief shuts the case down, setting the stage for a dangerous investigation that spirals wildly out of control.
