The Sustainable Kitchen: Cooking for Personal and Planetary Health
Thursday August 27, 6:30-8:30 PM
$30.00 (plus tax)

In this workshop, we will explore the relationship between personal and planetary health in the kitchen... from the soil to the plaste.   You will learn how to make your shopping, cooking, and eating practices more eco-friendly. Drawing from years of experience as an organic farmer, a monk/cook at the Zen Monastery Peace Center, and a green consultant, Deborah Tull will take you on a journey that will change the way you cook, eat, and experience food in your daily life.

Instructor: Deborah Tull is a sustainability coach and meditation teacher who has been traveling to, living in, or teaching about sustainable communities internationally for the last 17 years, including seven years as a monk at the Zen Monastery Peace Center. She teaches workshops throughout Los Angeles County, and is certified in Permaculture Design, Bio-Intensive Organic Gardening, and Compost Education. Her approach to sustainable living is a unique combination of peace and environmentalism that emphasizes the interconnection between personal and planetary well-being. She was recently featured on KCRW's Good Food and has also been featured in Yogi Times Magazine, Larchmont Chronicle, Westside Today, Bicycle Fixation, Coffee Break TV Show and other publications.
