Through his work, Los Angeles native Paul uses a variety of mediums to explore and construct dream-like imagery. Traditional drawing and painting are the cornerstones in all of his work, as many of his pieces begin from loose sketches of people, moments, or feelings that meld together on the page. Paul harnesses and refines these improvised and rapidly forming drawings in the slow and methodical practice of Printmaking. This practice involves many different techniques and printing methods, both modern and archaic, to create beautiful handcrafted pieces. Above all, his love of process drives his work. Paul finds joy and meditation in slowing down and taking time in the creation of each print. Measuring and tearing each piece of paper by hand, applying ink and color to each print and cranking each piece through a printing press are the unseen tools Paul uses to enrich his work.
Please join us for our special artist reception on Saturday, October 13th at 1pm to meet the artist in person and view his work.
