Memoir Writing : Childhood with Ann Hamer

This memoir writing workshop focuses on writing about your childhood. Topics covered include first memories, where you grew up, school, sports and after-school activities, parents and siblings, friends, and so much more. You will do plenty of writing in class, and get a lot of helpful hints on getting started, dealing with procrastination, and jogging your memory. Learn to unlock your creativity and enjoy writing your memoir.
Ann will also be offering a memoir writing class that focuses on love June 16th from 9:30am-12pm. Sign up for one class, or both! Whether you have already started or are new to the memoir writing process, you will find these classes fun, interesting and helpful.
Your $25 materials fee covers participation in the workshop plus your own copy of Writing It Your Way: A Step-By Step Guide to Telling The Story of Your Childhood., with over 100 writing prompts focused on growing up, family, school, and all those "firsts" you experience as a child. It gives a nice gentle introduction to the memoir writing process. Participants will also receive their choice of a journal or a coloring book, plus in-class handouts.
Instructor: Ann Hamer is the author of Writing It Your Way: A Step-by-Step Guide to Telling the Story of Your Life and Writing It Your Way: A Step-By Step Guide to Telling The Story of Your Childhood. Ann leads support groups for writers and teaches classes in memoir writing and self-publishing. Ann earned degrees at Oregon State University, Loyola Law School and the University of Oxford.
