In this workshop you will focus on writing about your childhood, a time filled with the intensity of many firsts. Whether you are just getting started or are an experienced memoir writer, this workshop is for you. We will do lots of fun writing exercises to help you unlock your creativity and relax with the writing process. You will also learn how to keep going when faced with writer's block, and get tips on writing your memoir and preserving your legacy for future generations.
Your $25 materials fee covers participation in the workshop, plus your own copy of both Writing It Your Way: A Step-By Step Guide to Telling The Story of Your Childhood and Writing It Your Way: A Step-by-Step Guide to Telling the Story of Your Life with over four hundred writing prompts, dozens of Helpful Hints, and numerous tools to keep you writing with enthusiasm after the workshop is over.
Instructor: Ann Hamer is the author of Writing It Your Way: A Step-by-Step Guide to Telling the Story of Your Life and Writing It Your Way: A Step-By Step Guide to Telling The Story of Your Childhood. Ann leads support groups for writers and teaches classes in memoir writing and self-publishing. Ann earned degrees at Oregon State University, Loyola Law School and the University of Oxford.
